Hi I’m Callie! I am a Midwest transplant living in NYC with my wonderful husband, Josh. I have an MPH in health communication and work for one of the largest, global PR firms writing stories that connect companies with the patients they serve. I have a passion for nutrition, and firmly believe we can eat well and enjoy food at the same time—a belief I narrate right here on Our Culinary Thing.
It took me many years to recognize a correlation between which foods I ate and how I felt; and even longer to begin reconciling this new-found love of plant-based, nutrient-rich food with my love of cooking and eating in general. I started Our Culinary thing with Josh back in the spring of 2014 as a way of contributing to the chorus of voices evangelizing the whole foods movement, and introducing a bit of clarity to an industry that is over-run with half-truths.
